Operator: “911 … what is your emergency?”
Caller: “I need some assistance – I am at risk of not winning my fantasy hockey playoffs!”
Did it seem to you that a lot of long-term partnerships turned into divorces this week? Owners are parting ways with injured and under-performing stars they have depended on all season. Among players I have seen dropped in my pools include Erik Karlsson, Robin Lehner and Brayden Schenn. It does not have to be an ugly breakup, as these stars will get added off the waiver wire if they can get healthy to help owners already moving on to the late rounds of the playoffs. Now is the time to check the schedule and pounce on separated scorers. One coach’s loss can indeed be another coach’s gain.
This week, the 911 once again brings you new advice on how to keep your edge in your fantasy hockey pool. Check back right here for a fresh “Exchange Rate” every week prior to the weekend games, including fantasy league playoff weeks. Push your odds with choices from the list of options below, all near or less than 50% owned in Yahoo leagues – along with some higher risk listed at less than 10% ownership as of Wednesday, March 6. Also, you can always look back at the last few weeks’ exchange rate for over-looked upward trending players.
Taking chances and playing the waiver choices and favorable schedules wins leagues.
