Yahoo Week 15, Fantrax Period 16

Did I Mention How My Teams are doing?

I know, you really don’t want to hear it. But for those of you who may be curious of how someone is doing that writes a weekly article on advice and pickups, I’ll try to keep it brief. I have three teams, one Yahoo and two at Fantrax. The Yahoo team provides daily roster moves while the Fantrax leagues are weekly formats.

Yahoo: 4th place, 12 points out of first. I joined this pool two weeks into the season. I’m not too keen on the new FAB bidding for free agents, but have made a huge trade that should keep me in the running. Essentially traded Vasilevskiy for Pastrnak in a multi-player trade with a coach asking for goalie help since the draft. That left me with Kuemper, Bobrovsky, Francouz and Greiss in net. I always use my four transactions every week to increase my stats. Some streamers that I have kept are Rust, Killorn, Hornqvist, Q.Hughes and Francouz.

In the Fantrax pools, I have started out losing several very close matches and am resting near the bottom of the standings in both. I have time to climb back into the playoffs with a solid finish. Players performing well are P.Kane, Marchand, Scheifele, Rust, Makar and Jarry. Under performing are DeBrincat, Arvidsson, John Gibson, Erik Karlsson and Bobrovsky. Weekly formats limit the streaming options but you can keep a larger bench. Goalies are tough to manage, as you need to have starters to get the most matchup points for a given week.

I would be interested in how your teams are doing and if you might use my column to get waiver ideas. Please email me at the email address at the bottom of the page, thanks!

Alert: The schedule for the week of Jan.20 runs two weeks through Feb.2 in both formats so be prepared to get the edge of extra games in your matches!
